Our story still has many pages to be written and we are now seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to manage the Quality team and support delivery of solutions to our customers in a socially ethical, responsible, and sustainable way and drive our quality and safety programs.

YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

To be a perfect fit for this role you will have:

  • Technical training accreditations (HACCP and SQF Quality Management).
  • Quality management and OH&S experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience in management of a small team and food quality.
  • Knowledge of food technology systems and food quality.
  • Experience in labs and/or similar environment
  • Experience working at a food production facility
  • Demonstrated strong people skills and the ability to network across all levels.

YOUR ROLE

You will be ensuring Essential’s products and services are fit for purpose, legally compliant and meet customer’s expectation. Some tasks include:

  • Management – Coach, develop and support the Quality team to support the delivery on the strategic goals and operational plans in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Manage and delegate internal and external audits and support a high result in food standards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulatory legislation, ascertaining relevant certification with governing authorities for business operational needs.
  • Quality –  Provision of creating, maintaining and advice on food standards and flavour legislation to relevant stakeholders. Ensure quality compliance and up to date documentation is adhered to with relevant national and international standards, local and international governing bodies (ACO, Halal, Kosher, IFRA, TGA etc).
  • Oversee and delegate Quality team to support internal & external audits and other quality activities. Ensure the business is ‘audit ready’ and reduction of risks, non-conformities.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders (Sales, customers, suppliers etc) to complete relevant quality documentation such as Product Information Forms (PIFs), questionnaires, certification docs etc.
  • Mentoring – you will have the opportunity to mentor the Quality team to multi-task, be independently leaders through knowledge sharing and guiding their learning growth.
  • Developing Others – you will help the Quality team to build their technical skills by designing an internal training program to improve their knowledge in quality assurance and control services.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to the sales team, operations and customers will help to support the quality of the business products with governing legislative authorities, customers and supplier relationships.
  • Your technical support to the teams across Essential will assist with determining detailed product knowledge, resolving raw material quality challenges and provide support to meet our regulatory obligations.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement in the Quality assurance and control systems and processes.
  • Mitigate risk(s) and guide quality team to problem solve and seek alternative solutions on quality control issues.
  • Projects – Actively partake in driving the quality team to achieve high results in food quality from beginning to end processes.
